Dr. Ryan Goeckner

Dr. Ryan Goeckner (PhD, The Ohio State University) is a cultural anthropologist whose research explores how belief—whether religious, spiritual, or paranormal—shapes health, identity, and human experience.  He investigates the cultural dimensions of paranormal belief, using ethnographic methods to examine lived experiences with the unexplained.  Dr. Goeckner co-hosts two podcasts, Religiously Literate and Beyond the Human, which promote cross-cultural understanding and critical engagement with belief and the unknown.

Dr. Christine Makosky Daley

Dr. Christine Makosky Daley (PhD, University of Connecticut) is an applied medical anthropologist, mixed methodologist, and implementation scientist with a focus on understanding and reducing health disparities in Indigenous communities in the US using community-based participatory research.  Dr. Daley has additional interests in understanding medical mysteries, such as Morgellons Disease and spontaneous human combustion, and how beliefs in the paranormal and supernatural influence how people think about wellness and disease.

Dr. Sean M. Daley

Dr. Sean M. Daley (PhD, University of Connecticut) is an applied sociocultural anthropologist and American Indian Studies scholar. Much of his work lies at the intersections of religion, spirituality, and health. Sean and his spouse and research partner, Chris, also an anthropologist, have consulted with individuals and families, businesses, faith-based organizations, and governmental agencies, on cases involving the paranormal, supernatural, and anomalous all over the United States since the early 2000s.
